You will be actively involved in HVAC design activities by carrying out calculations, simulations and studies which will contribute to the various orientations of projects and systems.

What tasks and responsibilities can you expect?

  • Carry out energy simulations with IESVE software;

  • Participate in the drafting of energy code compliance reports CNÉB, LEED, BCZ, SCHL;

  • Calculate the effective building envelope resistance values;

  • Carry out implementation studies for the improvement of mechanical and electrical systems in existing buildings;

  • Participate in the drafting of energy audits;

  • Submit and follow up on requests for financial support for HQ, Énergir, TEQ;

  • Assist the design team in developing concepts to optimize the energy performance of buildings;

  • Perform heating and air conditioning load calculations for sizing electromechanical systems;

  • Carry out energy simulations to calculate natural gas and electricity consumption;

  • Participate in the LEED ecological certification process;

  • Submit grant applications and follow up with various organizations: Hydro-Québec, Énergir, TEQ;

  • Collect and consolidate external information such as energy bills, plans and specifications, shop drawings, purchase orders and other documents required by grant programs.

You will work under the supervision of the energy efficiency team leader. You will have the choice of working from our offices in Montreal or Sainte-Thérèse.

What are the prerequisites for this position?

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or any other training deemed equivalent;

  • 3-5 years or more of relevant experience in energy efficiency;

  • Experience in consulting engineering (considered an asset);

  • Knowledge of automatic regulation (considered an asset).

What skills are sought?

  • Excellent communication in French, both oral and written (English, an asset);

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software;

  • Knowledge and/or mastery of energy simulation software such as: IESVE, HAP, SIMEB, eQUEST (an asset);

  • CEM and PA LEED certifications (considered assets);

  • Knowledge of Quebec construction codes, norms and standards
