Engineer - Mechanics

Project Manager and Mechanical Disciplines Manager

You will be responsible for supervising the design and application of the technique in your project team, managing your projects internally within the company and managing the relationship with the client and the various stakeholders. You will be the link between the Dupras Ledoux team and the client.

DISCIPLINE OFFICER

What tasks and responsibilities can you expect?

  • Plan the tasks of the discipline

  • Plan resources for projects

  • Meet project deliverables within prescribed deadlines

  • Develop and monitor construction budgets

  • Lead the mechanical design team of the project and sign documents as an engineer: Maintain the technical document so that it meets the needs of the project; perform and validate calculations; produce conceptual diagrams; select equipment and coordinate their integration with other disciplines; produce the technical specifications for the discipline; ensure compliance and respect for standards and regulations; apply the design methods, procedures and standards of Dupras Ledoux

  • Establishing interdisciplinary relationships

  • Coordinate the main elements with the Client and other stakeholders

  • Participate in coordination meetings with the Client and other stakeholders

  • Synthesize the information received and transmit it to your work team

On a daily basis, you will have a dual role: project manager and mechanical discipline manager. You will have the choice of working from our offices in Montreal or Sainte-Thérèse.

What are the prerequisites for this position?

  • Hold an engineering qualification (OIQ)

  • 5 years of relevant experience in building mechanical engineering design

  • 2 years of relevant experience in project management

What skills are sought?

  • Excellent communication in French, both oral and written (English, an asset);

  • Basic knowledge in the above-mentioned disciplines

  • Knowledge of Quebec construction codes, norms and standards

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software

  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit software (an asset)

  • Knowledge of PMI concepts (an asset)

À quelles tâches et responsabilités vous attendre ?

  • Be the main contact with customers and other stakeholders

  • Manage the project and the project team

  • Participate in business development and ensure customer relations

  • Provide support for drafting service offers

  • Manage the contract, mandate (design and monitoring), deadlines and project budget

  • Support the administration in the collection when the deadlines exceed what is provided for in the contract

  • Monitor project performance indicators: schedule compliance, profitability, invoicing, accounts receivable deadlines

  • Identify out-of-mandate items and follow up on requests for additional fees
