Mechanics (plumbing)

On a daily basis, you will work on developing plumbing, heating and cooling plans. You will also be required to communicate with manufacturers, select equipment and perform various calculations.

What tasks and responsibilities can you expect?

  • Work with the mechanical engineer on the development of plumbing, heating and cooling plans

  • Coordinate plumbing plans with architects, structural engineers and civil engineers

  • Coordinate equipment connections with electrical engineers and technicians

  • Communicate with equipment suppliers to select plumbing and installation equipment.
    heating cooling such as pumps, boilers, tanks, plumbing fixtures etc.

  • Perform piping and equipment sizing calculations

  • Coordinate with other disciplines equipment, piping and other plumbing elements within the
    Revit model

  • Carry out site surveys when required

  • Support the site monitoring team to resolve technical issues

  • Design sanitary drainage, storm drainage, domestic water, natural gas, compressed air networks

  • Design mechanical rooms for domestic hot water production and heating

  • Design hydronic, heating, cooling and heat recovery networks

  • Participate in technical training and share acquired knowledge with other team members.

You will work under the supervision of the mechanical team leader. You will have the choice of working from our offices in Montreal or Sainte-Thérèse.

What are the prerequisites for this position?

  • Hold a college diploma in building mechanics or equivalent experience or training

  • Have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in consulting engineering or for a plumbing subcontractor (or experience deemed relevant)

  • Hold an ASP construction card (advantage)

What skills are sought?

  • Excellent communication skills in French, both spoken and written (English, an asset)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite software

  • Proficiency in Revit software

  • Have knowledge in other areas (asset): ventilation, fire protection, regulation and control, electricity, estimation

  • Knowledge of Quebec construction codes, norms and standards
